Caldwell Places 30th at NCAA East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | Pache' Caldwell represented the Florida A&M track and field program at the 2023 NCAA East Preliminaries Wednesday (May 24) with a 7.25-meter effort in the long jump (23' 9.5"). The Atlanta native made his NCAA postseason debut in the event, and though he will not advance to the next round, he does have another opportunity to qualify for the championship meet.

Caldwell finished 30th in the 48-person field, with his best jump occurring on the first of three attempts. He returns to Hodges Stadium Friday (May 26) at 2:30 p.m., when he will compete in the high jump. The "Top 12" qualify for the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas.

With two punching a ticket to the preliminaries, Rattler Nation also has an opportunity to cheer on Teleda Williams Thursday (May 25) as she takes on the first round of the 400 and 200 meter dashes. The former is slated for 7:25 p.m., while the latter starts at 8:45 p.m. Catch all three days of the regional meet live on ESPN+.
