ARLINGTON, Texas — Florida A&M bowling had a chance to advance to the finals, but fell to Alabama State in the mega match that went all the way to the wire.
The Rattlers started off 1-0 for the third straight match winning the traditional match 936-847. Jordan Shipp led the way, bowling a 213.
The baker match didn't go the Rattlers way, falling to the Hornets 876-865 forcing a bakers match beat of seven to advance to the championship match.
The Rattlers won the first match 202-178, but lost the next three (174-177, 151-177, 172-244) to fall down 3-1. The Rattlers battled back winning game five 222-221 as Shipp came up clutch in the tenth frame with two strikes and a seven to win the game for the Rattlers. In game six, the Rattlers were dominant, winning 257-182. The Rattlers were unable to complete the comeback as they lost game seven 184-171.
The Rattlers will take on Prairie View Sunday at 9 a.m. Central for a chance to play the Hornets in the championship match.
