Rattlers Travel to New Orleans for SWAC Championships

NEW ORLEANS, La. | Florida A&M tennis looks to make some noise in New Orleans, Louisiana, participating in their first SWAC Championships.

In the Rattlers' first season as a member of the SWAC, they finished in sixth place with a conference record of 5-4 with victories over Mississippi Valley State (4-0), Grambling State (4-1), Alabama A&M (4-3), Southern (4-0), and Bethune-Cookman (4-0).

The Rattlers will open the tournament Friday, April 22, at 9 a.m. Central versus four-seed Alabama A&M. The Rattlers defeated the Bulldogs earlier in the season 4-3. The Bulldogs took the doubles point, but Aylean Hubeaut, Haleigh Porter, Sierra Sandy, and Susan Salinas won their matches for the team win.

The winner will face one-seed Jackson State on Saturday, April 23, at 9 a.m. Central.
