Dear Rattlers, 
 
I hope that you and your families are healthy and safe. A lot has changed over the past few weeks with the worldwide spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). During this time, our student-athletes, coaches and staff have displayed great maturity and unity in responding to this unprecedented pandemic.
 
The NCAA's cancellation of all Spring Championships followed by the MEAC's suspension of sports for the remainder of the spring semester reflect the gravity of the situation. 
 
During this time our top priority remains the health, safety, and wellbeing of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. We will get through this together. Our student-athletes have set a new standard of excellence in the classroom and on the field of competition. The future of FAMU Athletics is bright.
  
We are following the precautions and protocols to protect students and the campus community. Student-athletes will be participating through remote instruction until further notice. All athletic facilities will be closed and all coaches and staff will work remotely until further notice. The only exception will be for medical treatment by appointment to our training room. Student-athletes will continue to have the option to remain in their on-campus or off-campus housing. 
 
As the current situation evolves, we plan to continue updating our donors, fans, staff, coaches and student-athletes as the situation demands. As you can imagine there are a multitude of questions regarding eligibility, roster management, return to athletic activity and financial implications that cannot be answered at this time. 
 
I am committed to the success of our student-athletes. With your help, we will ensure they have the support and resources they need during this time of crisis.
