CLEMSON, S.C. | The Florida A&M men's and women's indoor track and field teams began their season on Saturday at the Clemson Opener at the Clemson Indoor Complex.
Women's Track Results
300m
Iilria Johns and Shaniya Wilder placed 25th and 27th, respectively, in 41.99 and 42.65. Itiana Redding finished 33rd in 43.93.
400m
Rachel Robinson finished 24th in 1:04.12.
600m
Kiara Ivy registered a 13th-place finish in 1:47.18, while Makayla Williams took 18th at 1:50.09. Zahkaria Fett placed 21st in 1:51.58
3,000m
Mercy Rotich just finished outside the top 10 at 11th, with a time of 11:08.71.
4x400m Relay
The Lady Rattlers claimed the eighth spot, with a time of 4:06.36.
Women's Field Results
High Jump
Rachel Robertson placed fourth, with a jump of 1.62m
Long Jump
Brianna Washington (5.30m) and Makayla Williams (5.12m) placed 13th and 21st.
Pole Vault
Kiara Ivy finished ninth at 3.35m.
Shot Put
Hunter Walker (10.26m) and Kynnydy McCullough (10.01m) placed 16th and 17th, respectively.
Weight Throw
Alelee Figueroa finished eighth, with a throw of 16.59m
Men's Track Results
300m
Niles Hattaway placed 25th at 38.56, while Michael Crimbley finished 29th at 40.71.
400m
Kamron Lawrence, Robert Hampton and Sedric Norris finished 15th, 17th and 18th, respectively, in 52.71, 52.97, 53.24. Markiel Ross and Maurice Morten, Jr. placed 22nd and 23rd at 55.12 and 55.78.
600m
Jayln Scott just finished outside the top 5 in sixth with a time of, 1:23.02. Jordan Nance and Brandon Love finished eighth and ninth at 1:23.76 and 1:24.34. Jaydon Sanford (1:27.03) and Timothy Ashley (1:30.97) finished 13th and 18th.
4x400m Relay
The Rattlers had two teams and placed third (3:16.64) and 10th (3:31.17). The "A" team finished behind South Carolina (3:10.05) and Western Carolina (3:16.06).
Men's Field Results
High Jump
Pache' Caldwell placed fifth, with a jump of 1.87m, while Kamron Lawrence finished seventh at 1.87m.
Long Jump
Pache' Caldwell finished sixth, with a leap of 6.77m. Niles Hattaway placed 14th at 6.19m.
Shot Put
Joshua Butler claimed ninth, with a toss of 13.69m.
Triple Jump
Michael Crimbley finished ninth at 13.22m.
Weight Throw
Joshua Butler placed seventh, with a throw of 13.21m
Up Next
Both teams will return to action in the new year and will visit Clemson for the second time in the indoor season. Florida A&M will travel Jan. 11 to participate in the Orange and Purple Elite.
