SMYRNA, Del. | The Florida A&M University cross country teams wrapped up their seasons on Saturday at the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Championships at the Delaware State Outreach and Research Center.

The Florida A&M placed fifth with 113 points and saw its streak of seven straight MEAC Cross Country Championships snapped. Norfolk State won the meet with 47 points, followed by Maryland Eastern Shore (75), Howard (103) and Morgan State (110). Bethune-Cookman (137), Coppin State (152), North Carolina Central (163), Delaware State (235) and South Carolina State (238) rounded out the 10-team field.

Mercy Rotich finished third, with a time of 18 minutes and 30 seconds to pace Florida A&M on the 5K course. Shalet Mitei and Emmax Kiplagat placed 10th and 12th, respectively at 19:20.3 and 19:35.1. Sharon Kibiwott finished 37th at 22:04.9 and Itiana Redding crossed the line in 26:18.6 to round out the individual scoring.

Rotich, Kiplagat and Mitei earned All-MEAC honors.

On the men's side, Florida A&M finished 10th with 250 points. Norfolk State claimed the title with 25 points, followed by North Carolina A&T State (40), Maryland Eastern Shore (122), Howard (145), Morgan State (163), South Carolina State (175), North Carolina Central (180), Bethune-Cookman (182) and Delaware State (201). Coppin State rounded out the 11-team field with 271 points.

Brian Kiprop paced the Rattlers with a 17th-place finish at 27:28.4, while Festus Kemboi finished 26th, with a time of 28:16.9. Jordan Nance, Jaylyn Scott, Pache Caldwell rounded out the individual scoring for the Rattlers.
